Professional Studies Programme for Initial Teacher Training
 
These materials have been designed for the following target audiences to support the delivery of high quality professional studies programmes: 
 
  • Professional Tutors/ITT Co-ordinators
  • Trainees who miss sessions
  • Trainees in schools where certain sessions are not provided
  • School staff responsible for delivering specific topics
     
Within each topic resources include:
  • A topic overview
  • A PowerPoint presentation which can be personalised, or supplemented
  • A fact/information sheet
  • Suggested activities
  • Further links
  • Trainees working independently can find a suggested solo task to complete on the topic overview

This one year project was supported by funding from the Training & Development Agency for Schools (TDA) as part of the Partnership Development Schools (PDS) Strategy between 2008-2009.  The project was designed to address the following regional Initial Teacher Training (ITT) priorities ‘To harmonise and resource the ITT professional studies programmes in schools’ and 'contribute to the knowledge base in ITT'.
